Estate Clearing in Grey Bruce Simcoe

Estate Clearing in Grey Bruce Simcoe

The passing of a loved-one is already a difficult time. Working through grief and the various tasks that accompany the role of an Executor can feel overwhelming. There is no one-size-fits-all way to manage through this time. When you’re ready to start thinking about clearing out a home or apartment, we bring experience, empathy and respect to be your ‘steady hand on the tiller‘ through the process.

House ‘n Order can

  • Work with the Executor(s) to identify the timeline and goals for clearing the Estate
  • Identify all bequeathed items and ensure there’s a plan to get things to their new homes
  • Pack, ship and in some cases deliver items to friends or family members (some exceptions apply)
  • Help you identify items which are saleable, and fully manage that process for you through working with appropriate Auction Houses, Consignment Shops and resellers to find the best fit for each piece. We turn over all proceeds from sales to our clients. We do not further take a commission. We’re paid for our knowledge and services. You keep the revenue!
  • Similarly, we fully manage donatable items by packing up items and delivering them to charities around the region. We know who takes what!
  • We believe in sustainability and responsible disposal methods. While it’s inevitable that some things may end up in a landfill, we are careful to divert appropriate items to Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Recycling, scrap metal, etc.
  • If you’re working with a Realtor, we’re happy to keep your Realtor updated on the progress
  • We have great relationships with other professional services you may need, such as Housekeeping, Staging, Realtors, Gardeners and other Contractors. If you need something else done that’s not our expertise, chances are we can find someone for you.

We’re happy to do all of these things for you, or select only the services you feel you need. Our in-home consultations are always free. Contact us early to arrange for your consult, which will help us estimate the costs for you.
